The Governors are seeking to appoint a School Business Manager who will be responsible for the leadership, development, management, operation and delivery of the support function within the school. Duties are wide-ranging and will include (amongst others): financial planning, forecasting and monitoring expenditure of the school budget for the Headteacher and Governing Body, including payroll and overseeing the financial assets, income and expenditure of the school.  In addition, the SBM will manage the facilities of the school; repair, maintenance and the private lettings.  

St Michael’s Catholic Grammar School is a small school with a distinctive Catholic ethos.  Students at the school are very well behaved and the school is a very pleasant working environment.

This person leads the support staff structure of the school.  They will work under the direction of the Headteacher.  Experience in a financial role is vital.

The appointed candidate will be flexible in their approach to the wide-range of work undertaken. The ability to manage a range of competing demands and to prioritise work is very important.  Computer skills in Word, Excel and SIMS are used extensively in this role together with various in-house software.  A very good level of both written and spoken English are essential.

St Michael’s is a girls-only (before sixth form), selective grammar, Roman Catholic secondary school with sixth form situated in North Finchley, London. It is a voluntary-aided state school that is part of the Archdiocese of Westminster. A smaller than average school, it will provide 920 places for secondary and sixth form students, when fully subscribed.

The school was established in 1908, became a Voluntary Aided Grammar School in 1958 and began to include boys in its sixth form in September 2009.
