Gesher is an Ofsted Outstanding independent All Through school expanding into an all-through school. We will cater for children aged 4-16 years with a range of mild to moderate special educational needs including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and downs syndrome.

The School Business Manager is part of the Senior Leadership Team and would primarily report to the Head Teacher, but also to Governors.  The School Business Manager will be responsible for managing a team of Office and Support personnel. The successful candidate will be a strategic, self-motivated, enthusiastic and forward-thinking individual, and will provide strategic and operational leadership in all aspects of business activities within the school and be accountable for the operation, maintenance and development of systems, processes and procedures relating to budget, finance, procurement, administration, HR, payroll, third party contract management, premises, including ICT and health and safety.  A full job description and person specification is available for download.

This is a full-time (40 hours a week), 52 weeks a year post and the successful candidate will be enrolled in a Pension Scheme. The work location is school based. The candidate will be expected to work some evenings, e.g. to attend Governor Body and Committee meetings

The role of School Business Manager is a multi-faceted role with particular expertise in finance, so previous experience or qualifications in the area are expected in people applying for this role. The candidate needs to preferably be either part or fully qualified as an Accountant or at least have a ILM Level 4 Diploma in School Business Management or ILM Level 5 Diploma in School Business Leadership.
