The Governing Body of Oaks Park wish to appoint an experienced and highly effective School Business Manager to support and assist the Headteacher and Governing Body, by providing the professional leadership, vision and strategic direction to deliver financial and operational security to our school to further promote and secure the best outcomes for our students. The start date of 3rd April will allow the successful candidate to work together with the current School Business Manager until 6th April in order to enable a smooth transition. The post also attracts a minimum of 22 days annual leave.

The School Business Manager is the lead support staff professional and works as part of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that the school meets its educational aims.  You would be responsible for providing professional leadership and management of school support staff in partnership with teaching staff, to enhance their effectiveness in order to achieve improved standards of learning and achievement in the school.  

The School Business Manager is responsible for Financial Resource Management, Administration Management, Management Information and IT, Human Resource Management, Facility & Property Management and Health & Safety Management of the school. 

Through the promotion of the highest standards of business ethos within the administrative function of the school, the School Business Manager strategically ensures the most effective use of resources in support of the school’s learning objectives.  An outward facing perspective to pursue collaborative opportunities with other schools, individuals or organisations, in the pursuit of the highest standards, expectations and opportunities to develop future income streams for the school, would also be required.  

Oaks Park High School is a very popular and oversubscribed mixed comprehensive school which is expanding the number on roll to meet local community demand (the current number on roll is 1747).  In 2011, Ofsted awarded the school ‘Outstanding’ status.  We as a school take pride in being an ambitious and supportive multi-cultural community, which maintains our child-centred philosophy at the heart of everything that we do.  Oaks Park is highly regarded for its high standards of pupil behaviour and orderly and purposeful learning environment. The school is centrally located in the London Borough of Redbridge, with very good transport links to central and outer London and Newbury Park station only a four minute walk away.
