We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and ambitious School Business Manager (SBM) to help lead our school on the next phase of its school improvement journey. Elizabeth Woodville is a great school, where staff and students strive to improve and learning is at the heart of everything we do.

Our school is located on two sites, Roade and Deanshanger but operates as one school with many staff working across both sites including the SBM. The SBM would be part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) along with the Headteacher, two Deputy Headteachers and 2 Assistant Headteachers who meet frequently to exchange ideas and share their expertise and desire to drive the school forward.

The successful candidate will have proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop teams of support staff across the following functions:  Finance & Procurement, HR & Payroll, Business Support Services & Premises Management.

This role is key to the success of the school and we want a School Business Manager who has a positive attitude, who cares about making a difference to the outcomes of our students and can take others along the journey with them. They will need to be a team player that is able to multi task effectively, motivate others and demonstrate a commitment to achieving high standards. Ideally the postholder will possess relevant SBM qualifications and will have had experience in a similar environment or can bring high quality, transferable skills from a business environment.

In return, we can offer the successful candidate a rewarding career in Elizabeth Woodville School which is part of Tove Learning Trust (TLT), a multi-academy trust based in Northamptonshire. Our member academies, of which there are seven, are mixed comprehensive secondary schools with a shared vision and purpose: to deliver inspiring educational experiences that lead to outstanding outcomes.  Each academy has a strong individual identity and tailors their educational provision to serve their local community.

TLT is a fast moving and exciting place to work. Staff are supported by exemplary senior leaders and by a network of advisors.  We also have an outstanding Teaching School within the trust.

Our shared vision and values focus on all aspects of school life to help students achieve to the best of their ability. We aim to provide an engaging and rewarding work environment with a high expectation culture where all staff are valued and equipped to meet the challenges associated with high quality teaching and learning.   We look forward to receiving your application.

About The Elizabeth Woodville School - North Campus (Roade)

Elizabeth Woodville School is an inclusive comprehensive school with approximately 1100 students. Elizabeth Woodville is part of Tove Learning Trust which is a rapidly growing trust whose vision is to ensure that all pupils in the trust academies are provided with outstanding educational experiences that lead to outstanding outcomes. This includes all aspects of school life with pupils achieving to the very best of their ability.

Our school is located on two sites, Roade (North campus) and Deanshanger (South campus). We operate as one school with staff working across both sites, however the successful candidate will be based at one site only. There are however many benefits to us being on two sites, including access to excellent sporting facilities, a broad and balanced curriculum with a range of options to choose in key stage 4 and good quality staff. The most important benefit for our students is that each site has an excellent pastoral system which means that all students are known, and no one becomes just a number.

Our ambition is to create an exciting and vibrant learning community where students enjoy success in and outside of the classroom.

Our school values of: ambition, confidence, curiosity, leadership and respect are important as they are qualities which will enable our students to succeed whatever their future ambitions.

We believe that all staff and pupils should be treated with respect and have built a culture based on respect for each other, resilience to meet new challenges and take responsibility for our actions and our learning. Our recent Ofsted report confirms that we are going in the right direction and that we have a clear understanding of what we need to improve and how to improve.

Elizabeth Woodville joined the Tove Learning Trust in November 2016. We are a close knit family of schools that have a shared vision and purpose: to deliver outstanding educational experiences that lead to inspiring outcomes. Each academy has a strong individual identity and tailors their educational provision to serve their local community. Academies within the Trust collaborate to share expertise and maximise opportunities and experiences for our staff and students.

We offer:

There are many attractive benefits to working at EWS including:

  • Free on-site parking
  • Rural location
  • On site Nursery
  • Swimming pool/gym membership
  • Friendly and caring team environment
  • CPD opportunities provided
