Geoffrey Field Junior School is a well-established school at the heart of the local community. In 2018 OFSTED described us as a “friendly and popular school” which continues to be rated Good.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and organised professional to play a key role in our school and help to shape its future. The School Business Manager has wide-ranging responsibilities across all support functions in the school. The successful candidate will have considerable opportunities for collaboration, being part of the successful Whitley Excellence Cluster as well as a lead school for the School Direct programme.

You should have a strong financial background, ideally with experience of managing one or more of the other main support functions (Administration, HR, Facilities Management and Health & Safety). Previous experience of working in a school would be beneficial, but we welcome applications from those with senior experience in a business environment.

Whether you are just starting your career in School Business Management or have many years’ experience, we would love to hear from you and show you around our school.

To arrange a visit or request an application pack please contact the school by phone or email.

Please do not send a CV. For the purposes of Equal Opportunities we can only accept Reading Borough Council application forms. Please ensure that all application documentation is returned by email to bursar@geoffreyfield-jun.reading.sch.uk

Applications will be considered as received, and interviews arranged accordingly.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) will be sought from the successful candidate.
