Job overview

Are you passionate about supporting our committed staff as they transform the lives of young men and women?

Do you wish to join an aspirational, collaborative and connected leadership group?

Westminster City School is a successful 11-18 Christian non-denominational comprehensive academy for boys with a mixed sixth form. Ours is a lively and vibrant learning community situated in the heart of central London with all the opportunities and advantages of an inner city school. Our ethos is important to us and shapes the way we carry out our responsibilities and care for those in our community, respecting every person in it.

"You are ambitious for the pupils at the school. You are proud of their achievements and strive to ensure they do the best they can." OFSTED 2017

The post has arisen following the retirement of the current Business Manager after 6 years of excellent service. Under their leadership we have seen a step change in the management of the school’s financial affairs and are now looking for a visionary leader to develop our single academy trust’s highly committed and effective team of support staff encompassing all support functions and contracted out services.

No two days are the same and your extensive range of responsibilities will require a broad set of skills, relevant qualifications, enthusiasm and resilience. Your role encompasses strategic and operational aspects so you will need to be flexible, delegate well and able to prioritise. You will be a valued member of the Leadership Group and will interact with a wide variety of stakeholders (staff, governors, parents and pupils plus our school’s Foundation office, contractors and other advisors).

We believe in developing our staff and have a dynamic and supportive management team. We also spend much of our time looking at what we can learn from other successful schools, putting learners at the centre of our decision making. We are aspirational in our ambition for all. We are at an exciting time in our school development and firmly believe that Westminster City School is a great place to work.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will need to undertake a criminal record check via the DBS.

If you would like to discuss the role informally with the Headteacher or to arrange an appointment to visit the school please email the Head's PA: l.ellens@wcsch.com

You may also wish to visit www.wcsch.com  to read more about the school.

Closing date: 9.00am on 11th April 2019.

Interview date: 25th April 2019.
