Job overview

We are a growing 11 - 16 co-educational comprehensive school of approximately 900 pupils. The school is situated in the London Borough of Waltham Forest with easy train and tube access in and out of London. 

We are looking to recruit an experienced secondary School Business Manager to start in January 2020.  

This role demands significant experience of strategic financial planning and the ability to secure effective services. Reporting to the governing body and the Head Teacher you will be responsible for the leadership and management of major school functions including finance, administration, a large school site and team, IT, GDPR, security, health & safety and maintenance as well as overseeing the provision of cleaning and catering. 

The ability to establish, lead and develop teams and manage successful projects is essential. 

Shortlisted candidates will need to demonstrate strong listening skills, focus, energy and determination as well as evidence impact and success in the areas above.

Leytonstone School is a mainstream, non-denominational, community secondary school for boys and girls aged 11-16. It is situated in Leytonstone, East London.

The school serves a truly multicultural community and it is proud of its diversity. Leytonstone School offers a broad curriculum for over 1000 pupils, designed to extend its most able students and provide support to those who need it most. Emphasis is placed on the quality of pastoral care.

Leytonstone School features new facilities for science, technology, music, art and drama, while its main school building, which dates back to 1911, has been updated and refurbished. Formerly an all-girls school, it has been a mixed comprehensive since the 1980s.
