New Barn School is a purpose-built facility with the interior designed by architects experienced in creating spaces for people on the autism spectrum. The modern building enables us to offer a broad, balanced, engaging and challenging curriculum that will provide the greatest opportunities for successful outcomes for our students.

The main building, which extends across two floors, incorporates six classrooms as well as a science room, food technology room, ICT suite, art studio, hall, intervention room, 1:1 room, first-aid room, kitchen, dining room and offices. There is also a sports hall and a separate building for vocational skills (including a music room).

We have been open since January 2017 and have received our OFSTED inspection which rated us a GOOD school in 2022. We are proud of our pupils and all that they achieve on a regular basis at Newbarn and we are excited for the future success we will experience.

We have dedicated and well-trained staff who are supported by an excellent senior leadership team and together with pupils, parents and families, aim to provide exceptional outcomes for young people.
