Can you enrich the lives of young people as a Caretaker?

We are looking for a responsible, hands-on Caretaker to join our fantastic team at Castle Garden School, Guildford. As Caretaker, you will help support our children and young people in their daily lives, by ensuring our sites are well maintained and equipped to meet their needs.

This is a great opportunity to work as part of a team committed to helping children with varied and complex needs. You will take pride in maintaining our school, from day-to-day repairs to completing risk assessments, carrying out security procedures, checking equipment and contributing to school development projects.

For many of our children, consistency is key, and our Caretaker take time to make sure everything is as it should be for us to run smoothly and safely.

When it comes to looking after our children, we never settle for second best. We are looking for a Caretaker, who shares our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK, to be happy and to make their way in the world.

Previous experience in a similar setting would be great but isn’t essential as full training will be given, and the right DIY skills, motivation, and personal qualities are just as important. These roles are ideal for people with skills in maintenance, DIY and health and safety, looking for a new role that makes a real difference to children’s lives and futures.

You will be quality focused, efficient, able to work at pace, and motivated to help us provide a safe, caring environment where every child can thrive.

Castle Garden School is a brand new school, part of Acorn Care and Education. Castle Garden School is a school for 7 to 14 year old girls and boys with Social and Emotional Mental Health, Autism and other complex needs. Our school is set in a great location close to the M3 and within commutable distance of all network links.
