The Royal Alexandra and Albert School is a state boarding school from 7-18 with a significant portion of the pupils as boarders, distributed over nine boarding houses. We are a voluntary-aided school with a strong Christian ethos dating back more than 250 years. We are committed to fostering Christian principles within a caring community, where people of all faiths and beliefs are welcome.
The Foundation of the School is able to offer a large number of ‘Foundationer’ boarding places to applicants who have a demonstrable need for boarding, and has royal patronage for this reason.
The Chaplain will lead the spiritual development of the School and contribute to the pastoral care of pupils at the School, being proactive in leading the formal and informal expression of Christian ethos and worship at the school. The Chaplain is also expected to respond supportively to pupils of any faith or none.
The post is a full-time one during term-time, although part-time applicants may be considered.
