Have you reached a point when working late nights and every weekend is no longer ideal? All Hallows are looking for an experienced chef to join our small, yet dedicated team to help prepare, cook, and serve nutritious, appetising meals for our pupils, staff and visitors.

What you’ll do:

  • Plan, prepare and cook a range of hot and cold meals, baked goods and desserts to a high standard.

  • Present and serve meals in a friendly and timely manner.

  • Ensure that service is efficient at busy times.

  • Pay particular attention to counter presentation throughout meal services.

  • Assist the Catering Manager with menu planning and ideas, especially for the boarders and chefs choice supper menu.

  • Ensure all meals are varied and offer a balanced diet and comply with the school's food and healthy eating policy.

  • Ensure all food is prepared with due care and attention, particularly in regard to customers special dietary requirements and allergies.

  • Ensure compliance with all the food hygiene legislation, health and safety, COSHH and kitchen operational procedures.


What experience you'll need:

  • Ideally possess City and Guilds 706/1 or 706/2 or equivalent

  • Preferably experience in high volume catering

  • Knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety practices ideally with a food hygiene qualification.

  • Ability to plan and cook nutritious meals, accommodating dietary requirements and menus

Hours

  • Rota basis between 7am and 7pm Monday to Sunday

  • 40 hours a week

  • 37 weeks a year

  • Every other weekend off
