Merlin School is looking for an enthusiastic, efficient, friendly and reliable person to take on the role of part time Domestic Assistant.
Merlin School is a well-established independent co-ed Pre-Prep school (children 3+ - 8+) situated in London just south of the Thames.
The Merlin school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Applicants must be willing to undergo Child Protection and Safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Start Date
The start date is w/c 8th December (later start dates will be considered).
Hours
Hours are Monday – Thursday 3.30pm – 7.30pm and Friday 2pm – 6.00pm during term time and then 60 hours spread across the school holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean classrooms, corridors, toilets, kitchen, offices, and communal areas to a high standard.
- Cleaning dining area floors and tables
- Ensure all surfaces are disinfected regularly, especially high-touch areas.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste safely and hygienically.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
- Operate cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuum cleaners, floor polishers) safely and effectively.
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards to the site manager or supervisor.
- Follow health and safety procedures, including COSHH regulations.
- Support the school’s safeguarding policies by maintaining a clean and safe environment for pupils and staff.
- Lock and secure premises if required during early morning or evening shifts.
- Work collaboratively with other cleaning staff and school personnel to ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard.
