Al Shohub Private School was founded in 1999 by Her Highness Sheikha Shaikha Bint Saif Al Nahyan to provide exceptional education in Abu Dhabi.
We are located in the heart of Khalifa City in Abu Dhabi in a purpose-built educational facility. Al Shohub is a British curriculum through school offering places from FS to Year 13 with co-ed provision from FS to Year 6 and an all-girls environment in secondary.
The large majority of our students are Emiratis. Our school is deeply rooted in the values of the Emirati community, driven by the aspirations of parents, and guided by the requirements of our regulatory body, ADEK.

THE ROLE
We are looking for a female School Counsellor for an immediate start.
Qualification Requirements
Please note, the requirements below are not aspirational; we cannot obtain a license from the local regulator for candidates not meeting the qualifications criteria. We require:
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or equivalent
- Master's Degree in Social Services or an equivalent would be advantageous
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years post qualification experience in school counselling or other counselling experience required
Job Specific Knowledge & Skills
- Good understanding of adolescent and child development and common concerns faced in a school environment and within the educational system in general
- A working understanding of how a range of factors can inhibit students’ physical, social and intellectual development
- A good understanding of child protection and experience of working within the policies and procedures of an organisation
- Good personal Administration and Organisation skills
- A high level of professionalism
- Self-awareness and reflection, personal drive and resilience
- Good written and oral communication
- An ability to work and contribute in a team
- A commitment to the safeguarding and well-being of young people
- Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age and ethnic background
- Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and professionalism
