Job overview

We are seeking a Part-Time School Counsellor for our Pastoral Department for Mondays and Thursdays 09.00-17.00 per week Term Time only on a fixed term contract until July 2021. The successful candidate will arrange appointments for individual students, using a referral system which enables triage, and provide the opportunity for them to be listened to in a therapeutic setting. Offer and publicise a ‘walk-in’ service to students giving a specified period of time where students are aware of the opportunity for them to turn up of their own accord. Analyse and assess the individual student’s needs and liaise with pastoral staff to support the referral of the student on, where necessary, to an appropriate professional setting.

The successful candidate will be a fully Qualified counsellor with British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy accreditation and UKCP* / UKRC*registration or equivalent. Receiving ongoing professional supervision as recommended by their counselling/psychotherapy professional body, and have experience of working with young people.
