King’s currently employs a part-time school counsellor who provides a service primarily for pupils with some liaison with staff and parents. We are now seeking to expand this provision with the appointment of a second specialist counsellor to enable us to provide onsite support and counselling to pupils on each day of the week.
We are looking for the successful candidate to work 15 hours per week, ideally Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
The ideal candidate will have a real understanding of how to work effectively with adolescent children within a school setting and a warm, empathetic, approachable character. In particular, experience of clinical psychology, or equivalent, would be highly advantageous.
King’s is one of the most successful schools in the UK, with outstanding academic results and first-class facilities, games and activities. Overlooking Wimbledon Common, the school is situated in one of the most attractive parts of south east England.
