School Governors Required

Bridge Academy Trust, a Multi-Academy Trust comprising of 11 schools in Essex, is seeking to strengthen the Acorn Academy Local Governing Committee by the appointment of non-elective Governors in Witham.

Whether you’re new to school governance or have experience of this type of role, we would love to hear from you.

The Local Governing Committee is passionate about their role in ensuring the school achieve the goals they have set by:

·        Working as a team to ensure the school provides a good quality education for all its pupils.

·        Supporting and challenging the Headteacher.

·        Planning the school’s future direction, supporting the aims of the school and helping to ensure that they are achieved.

·        Ensuring that the school functions within the legal and regulatory framework of the sector and in line with the school’s governing document.

A high level of understanding of education is not required. A willingness to learn is more important. At this time, we are particularly keen to recruit individuals with:

·        Capability or willingness to chair the Local Governing Committee.

·        The commitment and flexibility to be able to devote sufficient time to this important role.

The Governor role is unremunerated but presents a great opportunity for self-development, provides the opportunity to give something back to the local community and to help children achieve the best education possible.

If you would like an informal discussion about the role of the Governor and/or the recruitment process, please email the Governance Professional to arrange a call: jeffriesa@bridgeacademytrust.org
