The opportunity

You will work collaboratively with the school community to promote and foster the achievement, participation, development, mental health and wellbeing of students, through the provision of a counselling service that facilitates continued engagement in learning activities. 

You will join an established and highly committed team who value compassion, respect, endeavour and dignity both as professionals and for the young people in their care.

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • have a relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology or Guidance Counselling, with experience working with adolescents
  • possess effective relationship building and influencing skills
  • have advanced interpersonal and communication skills
  • be committed to the values and ethos of the Catholic faith.

During paid school vacation periods you will not be required to attend work, however attendance may be required in the event of a critical incident.

In addition to the support of the Principal and another Guidance Counsellor at the College, you will be further supported by: 

  • Peer Supervision Support and Debriefing groups (PSSD)
  • Case Consultations to discuss any relevant case topics
