The School:

 The King Fahad Academy is an independent International Baccalaureate (IB) World School and the only Islamic school in the UK authorised to offer the IBO programmes. We provide a bilingual international education with an Islamic ethos to students aged 3-19 years. Our unique approach to faith-based education combines the rigour and innovation of the IBO programmes with the ethos and values of the Islamic faith. We help cultivate in our students, through their own culture and faith, an understanding and an open-minded attitude towards other cultures and beliefs – equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to appreciate and thrive in today’s increasingly globalised and multicultural world. 

The Job: School Health Advisor (SHA)

The role of School Health Advisor (SHA) is to work with the Leader of the Pupil Well Being Team to coordinate and oversee the Academy’s health and wellbeing programmes for pupils and staff. The School Health Advisor will provide support and guidance to promote effective school health policies, practices and programmes. This will include initiatives to support   the Academy’s objective to acquire Ealing Healthy Schools Bronze level award. 

The SHA will help the Academy to achieve this by making effective and efficient use of existing resources as well as developing new and innovative programmes in support of the three IBO programmes used by the Academy (PYP, MYP and IBDP). The SHA will work collaboratively with the three Programme Coordinators to achieve this.

The SHA will also provide first aid cover one day per week in the absence of the school nurse.

We are looking for a School Health Advisor who has: 

• Degree level (or higher) qualification 

• Training and experience in working with children and young people

• An understanding of child development

• Awareness of health needs of children and young people

• Communication skills

• A first aid/nursing qualification
