About the school:

• Alternative provision providing support for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other Complex Needs.

• Small class sizes, with up to 15 students at the site.  

About the School Leader role:

• Working with the Executive Headteacher to translate the provisions’ ethos and objectives and ensure it is acted upon by all

• Create and facilitate operational plans which will promote and sustain service improvement 

• Ensure that all planning is strategic and leads to a cycle of continuous improvement across the whole provision

• Demonstrate and articulate high expectations and set targets for the whole school community and ensure that there is a consistent school-wide focus on pupils’ achievement, using data and benchmarks to monitor every child’s learning. 

• Determine, organise, and implement a diverse, flexible curriculum and implement an effective assessment framework

• Monitor and review classroom practice and promote improvement strategies 

• Manage financial and human resources effectively in accordance to the provisions educational goals and priorities. 

• Recruit, retain and deploy staff – managing their workload to achieve the school’s visions

• Liaise with the Trustees governing body – providing information, objective advice, and support to enable it to meet its responsibilities.

Requirements for School Leader role:

• Previous experience working in a similar leadership role 

• Knowledge of school administrative processes and national educational regulations 

• Previous experience working in schools, children, or vulnerable adults – it is vital that you have finessed your expertise in the classroom first. 

• Creative, hands-on approach

• Enhanced DBS on Update System or willing to get one

• Right to Work in the United Kingdom

• Be able to provide 2 references
