The School wishes to appoint high quality Academic Tutors to deliver our ‘School-Led Tutoring’ in English and Maths in Years 7 and 10.
Tutors will work face-to-face with small groups of students to support catch-up interventions, to help students who have fallen behind due to the COVID-19 Pandemic through the government funded ‘School-Led Tuition’ programme.
Tutors might include trainee teachers, non-qualified teachers or non-practising (or retired) teachers, or university students. Experience of working (paid or unpaid) with children of the appropriate age range would be desirable. The successful candidates will ensure that pupils are assessed and tutored to improve their skills, knowledge and understanding of English and/ or Maths. Training is provided through the National Tutor Programme and certified through the Chartered College of Teaching.

- Blind shortlisting by a panel against the Job description. Potential applicants are scored. Shortlisting by at least 3 people including one SLT.
- Shortlist for interview based on scores from shortlisting.
- Interview process will depend on role and may include; lesson observations, data or admin tasks, panel interviews, student panels and a final interview
- All assessed tasks are scored according to set criteria and scores are moderated to ensure consistency.
- All panel interviews and final interviews are scored. Each interview has a moderation process to ensure consistency of scores where appropriate. Questions are common to all applicants.
- Feedback is provided by a member of the panel.
