🎨 Your Role – What You’ll Be Doing
As a Librarian, you will:
📚 Develop and manage the school library – Ensure an inspiring, well-organised, and accessible learning space that supports student engagement with books.
📖 Promote a love of reading – Plan and run initiatives that encourage independent reading, from competitions to book recommendation schemes.
👨🏫 Work with teachers – Support departments by sourcing relevant texts, collaborating on literacy projects, and helping integrate reading into all subject areas.
🌟 Run events and enrichment activities – Organise book fairs, author visits, themed literacy events, film showings, and games nights to make reading exciting.
💻 Curate digital and print resources – Maintain and expand the library’s collection, ensuring resources are relevant, engaging, and reflective of students’ interests.
📙 Support students’ academic growth – Help pupils develop research skills, access resources, and use technology effectively for learning.
🔍 Encourage reading across all abilities – Work closely with SEN and EAL departments to ensure every student can benefit from literacy initiatives.

✔ Is proactive, creative, and able to inspire young people to engage with books.
✔ Has experience working in a library, education, or literacy-focused environment.
✔ Enjoys working collaboratively with teachers and students to enhance learning.
✔ Is skilled in organising events and activities that foster a love of reading.
✔ Can develop and maintain an engaging and well-stocked library collection.
✔ Has strong communication and ICT skills, with the ability to manage digital resources effectively.
