St. Augustine’s C.E. High School is a medium sized mixed comprehensive school situated on the doorstep of central London, in Kilburn. The school is fully inclusive and promotes excellence in learning, seeking to ensure that all students are the best that they can be; our dedicated staff are focused on quality and achievement whilst ensuring the happiness and well-being of our community.

Our collective hard work and determination to succeed was recognised by Ofsted, who judged our school to be ‘Outstanding’ in September 2013. Following our 2016 results, St. Augustine’s was recognised by The Minister of State for Education as being amongst the 100 top performing schools nationally in terms of the progress that our pupils on free school meals make between Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 4 (including English and Maths). We were also recognised as being in the top 7% of schools nationally for the progress made by students.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced professional to manage the activities of our school library.

The successful applicant will be a reliable and enthusiastic individual with experience of promoting a passion for inquiry and effective research skills. Well-developed organisational and communication skills are a prerequisite. We are looking for the right balance between experience, enthusiasm and a passion for reading and books, which will inspire our students.

You will have a library assistant who you will be responsible for managing and supporting.

The library is the heart of our school. It is our vision that the library space not only be a repository for books, but a dynamic centre of learning activity. It will be a place for both individual reading, research and reflection, as well as a space for collaboration and group discovery.

Visits to the School are welcomed.

St. Augustine’s C.E. High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to appropriate child protection screening including checks with previous employers and the Criminal Records Bureau.
