Colton Hills Community School is a mixed, non-denominational community secondary school and sixth form for pupils aged 11-18, based in the south of Wolverhampton in the West Midlands.

Colton Hills has been judged as a ‘Good’ school in the latest OFSTED inspection in 2023. Since its establishment in 1974, the school encompasses a rich, harmonious and multicultural community and is committed to the development of all students, up to and including our growing sixth form. In a report by The Times in March 2025, Colton Hills was ranked amongst the top 20 happiest schools in the country.
We are also a growing school, our student numbers are robust and the whole-school cohort is over 1000 students. With a healthy financial picture and strong school governance in place, we are now seeking to expand our staff to create the best possible experience for our students by surrounding them with inspiring adults delivering an exciting curriculum.

We are proud to share His Majesty’s inspection team recognised the respectful, inclusive and aspirational environment in school, reporting that “staff share a strong focus on removing any barriers that pupils may have”.
The inspection team were impressed with the school’s curriculum and the quality of the teaching and noted “subjects often exceed the requirements of the national curriculum.” Leaders have developed an effective personal, social and health education (PSHE) curriculum and “adapt the programme to respond to local and national concerns.”
The report also highlights the “positive relationships between staff and pupils”, and how Sixth Form students are active in the life of school in various ways.
