Appointment Details:

  • Annual Salary: £3,700
  • Hours: 2 hours per day (11am-1pm, exact hours to be confirmed), 5 days per week, term time only (37 weeks per year).
  • Reports to: The Headteacher
  • Location: Floreat Brentford Primary School, located off Ealing Road in the Great West Quarter, Brentford.
  • Contract term: Permanent.

At Floreat we believe lunchtime is an essential part of the school day, when children can develop and practise character virtues such as patience, courtesy and service of other. Mealtimes at Floreat are a time to share, to display good manners and to enjoy one another’s company.

We are looking for an SMSA to help support a routine and rhythm for calm, enjoyable lunch times. You will become part of the lunchtime team and help shape our approach for years to come.

Person specification:

  • Ability to work as part of a team and form good relationships with other colleagues to ensure effective lunchtime supervision. 
  • A warm but confident manner with children, and the ability to model virtues such as dignity, professionalism and kindness. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality over matters relating to the school, with pupils, staff or parents. 
  • Ability to set and maintain high expectations of pupil table manners and conduct during lunchtime. 
  • Ability to lead and engage the children in play. 
  • Ability to ensure the health and safety of pupils at all times and follow the school process for reporting incidents. 
  • Reliability with respect to work attendance and punctuality. 
  • Good spoken English skills
