Job overview

Cothill House is seeking a motivated and qualified School Nurse/Matron/Paramedic to join our dedicated and professional team of nurses and matrons. This position is part time, term-time only working a combination of weekday, evening, Saturday shifts. On-site parking is available and delicious free meals are provided.

Cothill House is thriving, family-run preparatory boarding school for approximately 200 boys aged 8–13 years surrounded by extensive grounds in the heart of rural Oxfordshire yet just seven miles from Oxford. Coupling a fine tradition - the school was founded in 1870 - with innovation, Cothill provides a happy, secure and stimulating environment, where the boys quickly learn how to live alongside each other, form firm friendships, and develop their talents and social skills for life.

Cothill prepares boys to move on to an array of the country’s top public schools and every year a number are successful in winning academic, sport, music and art scholarships. Whilst we are proud of our academic success, we never lose sight of the fact that we are preparing boys, not just for examinations, but for life. Our main role is to be guardians of childhood!

The school Medical Centre is located at the heart of the school and provides 24-hour care for all boarders. The school GPs hold twice weekly surgeries in the school and they are also on call to deal with emergencies.

The successful candidate will have an interest or experience in working with children. Previous Practice Nursing, School Nursing, Matron or Paramedic experience is highly desirable although not essential. The ability to work independently is essential and responsibilities include correspondence with parents, Covid testing and dealing with emergencies.
