Part Time role, 20 hours per week, with flexibility 

This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse, looking to work in a pleasant working environment in a satisfying and extremely varied role. Oxford High School is an independent girls’ day school (ages 4 to 18) where there is a strong emphasis on the quality of pastoral care. 

Supporting the full time School Nurse you will be an integral part of the pastoral system. In addition to dealing with ill/injured students, you will work closely with students and parents, outside agencies, the Senior Leadership Team, Year Heads and Form Tutors. Empathy with young people and an understanding of their emotional wellbeing is essential.

The School Nurses deliver part of the PSHCE programme to all Year groups in the Senior School, on a variety of topics. 

The successful applicant will be a Registered Nurse with relevant post registration experience, ideally including school-based practice.

This role is being advertised at 20 hours per week but flexibility to be able work additional hours as required is essential.

The flexibility to attend training/meetings at various other GDST locations is also necessary.

About Oxford High School for Girls GDST

Oxford High School is an independent, non-denominational, all-through school for girls without nursery and with sixth form, situated in three sites in Summertown, North Oxford. It is one of 26 members of the GDST (Girls’ Day School Trust), meaning it is governed by the council and operates according to the trust’s policy. The school provides 906 places for primary, secondary and sixth-form students aged 4-19.

Oxford High School was founded in 1875 and is the oldest girls' school in the city.
