Description | St Joseph's College, Lochinvar is seeking a permanent part time (6 hours per week) School Officer – Creative Arts Assistant to join the school community commencing in Term 1, 2022. St Joseph’s College, founded by the Sisters of St Joseph in 1883 is a co-educational secondary school providing a rich and diverse educational experience for 940 students from Years 7 to 12. The College aspires to be a place of learning where students, staff and families are valued and respected for their uniqueness. Located in the stunning Hunter Valley, St Joseph’s has a blend of heritage and modern buildings which include a Chapel & Heritage Centre, new Administration and Resource Centre, a purpose-built hall and associated Café & Hospitality Centre, well equipped, modern Technology/Trade Centre as well as refurbished Performance and Creative Arts spaces. |

Position Requirements | In this position the School Officer – Creative Arts Support will work under the supervision of the Leader of Learning – Creative Arts and at the direction of the Office Manager and Principal to deliver high quality service for 6 hours per week in support of Creative Arts Faculty Staff Key Duties include - • Support and carry out equipment maintenance • Assist with Creative Arts Faculty events as required i.e. Art Exhibitions, Performance Events • Assist with ordering of materials or equipment in consultation with the Leader of Learning • Undertake regular stocktakes • Assisting with set up and pack down of equipment for lessons • Assist with day-to-day Creative Arts Faculty operations • Assisting the broader team as required The Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle has an abiding commitment to promote the safety, welfare and wellbeing of children and vulnerable adults - particularly those who participate in the life of the Diocese. Essential Criteria | • Ability to support the ethos of Catholic education • Knowledge of safe working practices according to the Australian Workplace Health and Safety Standards • Demonstrated experience maintaining a safe working environment • Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills • Good organisational and time management skills and ability to work independently. • Ability to maintain equipment, resources and accurate documentation • Calm, confident and professional manner • Ability to be flexible and adaptable • Understanding of and commitment to confidentiality • Capacity and willingness to work in a team environment; • Willingness to Comply or Compliance with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy. Category A – Accreditation to Work The applicant must provide evidence of the following: • Current Paid Working with Children Check (WWCC) number; • Completion of Anaphylaxis training. • Proof of Covid vaccination status. |
