Description | St Joseph's College, Lochinvar is seeking a temporary part time (32 hours per week) School Officer – Finance & Administration to join the school community commencing for Term 1, 2022 and the first four Weeks of Term 2 St Joseph’s College, founded by the Sisters of St Joseph in 1883 is a co-educational secondary school providing a rich and diverse educational experience for 940 students from Years 7 to 12. The College aspires to be a place of learning where students, staff and families are valued and respected for their uniqueness. The community of St Joseph’s welcomes all who are ready to actively share the mission, vision, identity and life of the College. Position Requirements | The School Officer – Finance & Administration will: • support the Senior Finance Officer, School Executive and School Staff in the day to day finance and administration tasks associated with the school • ensure that all tasks are completed in an accurate and timely manner to support the financial management of the school. • have the capacity to assist the Senior Finance Officer in processing school finance matters, including the collection of school fees. • demonstrate a strong understanding of financial management tasks, strong attention to detail; the highest degree of confidentiality and a commitment to continuous improvement. • have the capacity to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a member of a team; • have excellent interpersonal and communication skills including a pleasant phone manner; • foster and promote positive personal relationships with all stakeholders The Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle has an abiding commitment to promote the safety, welfare and wellbeing of children and vulnerable adults - particularly those who participate in the life of the Diocese. Essential Criteria | • ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and to actively support the Catholic ethos of the school • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite especially Microsoft Word and Excel; • capacity to complete all purchase orders, process payments, complete banking and cash handling • ability to carry out a diverse range of school administration duties including record management to support the effective functioning of the school • Excellent organisational and time management skills; • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to manage several tasks concurrently; • Capacity to tolerate an interrupted working environment; • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy levels • Knowledge and practical experience with Compass; • Willingness to Comply or Compliance with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy. Category A – Accreditation to Work The applicant must provide evidence of the following: • Current Paid Working with Children Check (WWCC) number; • Completion of Anaphylaxis training. • Proof of Covid vaccination status |
