We are seeking a School Officer: Learning Support for a fixed-term position working 8.30am – 3.00pm Monday - Friday.
This is a 12 month contract position for the 2022 school year. 

Typical duties performed include, but not limited to:

a) Assisting student learning, either individually or in groups, where some discretion and judgement are involved in evaluating and assessing (under the supervision of an academic staff member(s)) the learning needs of students.
b) Within routines, methods and procedures carrying out liaison between the school, the student and the student’s family where some discretion and judgement are involved.
c) Under direct and/or routine supervision, performing tasks of limited complexity, associated with classroom learning experiences, such as assisting teachers in preparing, implementing and supervising learning programs.
d) Supporting students in relation to their physical needs where some discretion and judgement are involved.
e) Involved in the College’s homework club. Work is performed under limited supervision and work may be checked in relation to overall progress.

Work may take the form of broad guidance and may involve a level of autonomy when working in teams.

• An ability to support inclusive education practices,
• An ability to attend to innovative and creative practices, and
• A proven capacity to work as part of a team.

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate: School Officer Level 3 - $29.77 per hour

Employment Conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement

As from 23 January 2022 all BCE Schools will be an environment where all employees are fully COVID vaccinated as directed by the Queensland Chief Health Officer.

This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
