School Officer - Our Lady Help of Christians School, HENDRA

The successful applicant will:

• have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;

• currently hold or be eligible to hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card; and

• be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

We are seeking an experienced, self starting and innovative school officer to work part time and up to full time across 2019. The successful candidate will support classroom teachers in delivering speech and language skill development, and supporting emerging readers. The person will be good with time management and record-keeping, as well as behaviour management of small groups of students. The person must have good knowledge in the area of working with indigenous students. Only school officers with Cert 3 or Cert 4 in Education Support should apply.

Our Lady Help of Christians is a small family-friendly school on the northside of Brisbane, close to the Gateway Motorway and airport. The community is supportive, friendly, and deeply embedded in the Catholic ethos. The school has beautiful grounds and has developed contemporary learning facilities and engaging play spaces. Estimated Start Date:   Commencing 13 May 2019

Position Tenure:   Fixed Term

Weeks Worked:  School term weeks only - holidays unpaid

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):   May 2019-Dec 2019

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required:   17 hours per week, over four days. Possibility of an increase to 25 hours over five days.

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate:   School Officer Level 2

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019

This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
