Sophia College is a Catholic secondary school located in the Lockyer Valley, approximately 80kms west of Brisbane. The College opened in January 2021 and continues to grow. Entering our third year of operation in 2023, we will introduce Year 9 to the existing Year 7 and 8 streams. We're growing our staff and are looking for dynamic staff with drive. You will have access to a supportive leadership team operating with a big school approach and small school feel, state of the art facilities (everything is new!) and the opportunity to exercise independence with the curriculum. About the role

We are seeking a Classroom School Officer/Teacher Aide to undertake a range of tasks in supporting the needs of students, under the direction of the teacher, in our classroom. 

Duties include:

  • general classroom support
  • preparation of resources and learning materials
  • using technology to support learning activities
  • administrative duties such as photocopying and filing

Skills & Experience
  • previous experience as a School Officer/Teacher Aide and/or hold a minimum a Cert 3 in Educational Support
  • proven communication and interpersonal skills
  • an understanding of the work of a classroom
  • a willingness to work as part of a team

You will also demonstrate an ability and initiative to apply your skills in supporting students to achieve successful learning outcomes.

To be eligible to be considered for this role you will:

  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.

Salary level, range or hourly rate: School Officer Level 3 - $30.97 per hour
