The successful applicant will:

  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

We are seeking an experienced School Officer who holds a Certificate III in Educational Support. The successful applicant will provide support to classroom teachers by working with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Speech Language difficulties, Anxiety and/or Social Emotional disabilities. Experience and knowledge in a range of technologies including word processing on laptops and iPads and in particular the use of One Note and Speech to Text Apps is preferable. The ability to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work as part of a collaborative team are considered crucial for the sucess of this role. The successful applicant will be required to work each morning across week to support the classroom teacher during key Literacy learning times. The role description includes the collection of evidence around specific goals in Literacy as outlined in Individual Learning Plans for students with additional needs.

Position Tenure:   Fixed Term

Weeks Worked:  School term weeks only - holidays unpaid

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):   1 year

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required:   12 hours per week with the possibility of increasing up to 20 hours. Required to work for: Monday - 4 hours Tuesday - 3 hours Wednesday - 2 hours Thursday - 3 hours

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate:   $30.93 an hour minimum

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019


This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
