Blue Mountains Grammar School is an independent, Anglican co-educational day school for students in Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12. Located approximately 95 kilometres west of Sydney in a world heritage area, the School has two campuses serving the Blue Mountains community:  Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 at Wentworth Falls, and Pre-Kindergarten to Year 4 at Valley Heights.  (Students transfer to Wentworth Falls to complete Years 5 to 12).

Celebrating its centenary this year, Blue Mountains Grammar School was established in 1918 as a boys' boarding school, and moved to its current site in Wentworth Falls in 1951, becoming co-educational in the 1980s.  There are approximately 600 students enrolled at BMGS across the Senior, Junior and Preparatory Schools.

Vision

Education for Life

Mission

To prepare young people for life in the rapidly changing world God has given us, equipping them to be courageous, constructive, creative and compassionate citizens with the will to serve.

Facilities

Set on 31 acres of land, overlooking the Wentworth Falls Lake, the carefully maintained grounds provide students with a calm natural environment and extensive 'green' areas in which the students may relax during their breaks.  Supporting the delivery of all stages of the K to 12 curriculum are excellent purpose-built facilities, such as the Science & Library complex, the Art & Design Centre, the Indoor Sports Centre and the Performing Arts Centre.  The Senior, Junior and Preparatory Schools each have their own Library Resource Centres, Assembly Halls and technology areas.

Curriculum

In addition to delivering the core curricula determined by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), Blue Mountains Grammar School integrates our location within a national park to offer a unique Wilderness Education program from Years 2 to 10 (including an elective course in Years 9 and 10).  Together with our outdoor education program, the School's Performing Arts stream (from Years 5 to 8) and extensive Visual Arts, Design and STEM programs offer students an exciting and challenging experiential education.

School ethos

The School was built on a tradition of Christian values and academic excellence.  The School encourages and supports creativity and innovation and learns from and adopts leading edge practice, both in its academic focus on continued improvement and its extensive student wellbeing program.
