About the role

We are seeking a dynamic School Secretary / Administration Officer to undertake a diverse range of administration tasks within our busy school office.

This position is the face of our Administration Office working as part of a collaborative team providing services to parents, students, school staff and the wider school community.

The wellbeing of our students is paramount to this role for a student-focused person who is capable of working with children from Prep to Year 6.

The right person must have demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy in a busy office environment. Attention to detail is key,

 

Duties

  • Student Attendance / Reception
  • Enrolment management and Marketing,
  • Student First Aid and Medication Administration
  • Administration of filing and online management systems (eMinerva);
  • Assisting with organisation of school events and activities;
  • Bookings – Excursions and internal class/room bookings.
  • Telephone Enquiries
  • Assisting School Leadership with various administration tasks;
  • Blue Card management, telephone and email management;
  • Creating weekly school newsletters

 

Skills / Experience

  • Recent administrative experience in a primary school setting
  • Highly developed written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure while responding to enquiries from staff, students, parents and the general public
  • An understanding and experience working with: Microsoft Office 365 Suite
  • Experience with the BCE school administration software would be advantageous  (eMinerva, Dynamics, ALLE, Web Self Service, Parent SMS and Parent-Slips)

 

Qualifications

  • Tertiary Qualifications and/or Certificate Training in Office Administration
  • First Aid and CPR certification, or the ability to obtain certification is required

  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
