Manchester Islamic High School for Girls is an outstanding independent Muslim Girls secondary school based in Chorlton, Manchester. We are looking to appoint a Secretary to provide a professional, efficient reception and administration service for the school.

The post is a part time appointment to work three days a week to commence 17th April 2017 with view to becoming a permanent role after an initial probationary period. 

It is essential that the successful candidate is respectful of the faith ethos of the school; demonstrates excellent communication and inter-personal skills, effective understanding of IT systems and possess a high level of written English and grammar.  You will be required to work on the input of data of the schools' SIMS database and also work alongside the Office Manager to produce reports and presentations. You will be the first point of contact for both telephone and face to face enquiries and will ensure security and safeguarding arrangements are always complied with. At least one year previous experience in an administration role is required alongside a positive and proactive approach to supporting the public, colleagues and students by providing a friendly and efficient reception service. 

The ability to prioritise your workload and be self- motivated with high standards would be essential. You will pride yourself on attention to detail, be a competent communicator and be effective when using a variety of communication mediums. The post holder should have an Administration, or IT related qualification and a minimum of grade C in GCSE English. 

In return you will have the opportunity to work within a small administration team at a high achieving independent girls high school with fantastic transport links and on-site parking. 

Manchester Islamic High School for Girls has its own salary scale, and the starting salary is negotiable within this according to qualifications, skills and experience.

The Manchester Islamic High School for Girls is an all girls, Muslim independent secondary school in the county of Lancashire serving students from the age of 11-16. The secondary school, situated in Chorlton, Manchester has approximately 219 students on record. 

The Manchester Islamic High School for Girls was established in 1991 by the Manchester Islamic Education Trust Ltd, who also oversee The Manchester Muslim Preparatory School and Kassim Darwish Grammar School for Boys. It was the first school in Manchester to combine the teaching of Islam along with the National Curriculum. The school was identified as outstanding by Ofsted in 2015.
