About Christ Church Cathedral School

Christ Church Cathedral School is a lovely Prep School for boys aged 3 - 13, with a Montessori-inspired Nursery and Prep-Prep for boys and girls. It is set in the heart of Oxford and near a variety of public transport. The School was founded by Henry VIII in 1546 when he established Christ Church and its Cathedral. The School provides boarding for 18 Cathedral Choristers and Flexi-Boarding for day boys aged 8 – 13. The School offers fully flexible wraparound care from 7.45 am to 5.00 pm for Pre-Prep and 6.00 pm for Prep.

CCCS prides itself on exceptional academic and musical achievements - over 50% of boys achieved scholarships to leading secondary schools in 2023. CCCS provides choristers to sing in the internationally renowned Christ Church Cathedral Choir. Means-tested bursaries, which provide transformational opportunities, are available for Cathedral Choristers and can cover up to 100% of fees. CCCS also provides choristers for the chapels of Worcester College and Pembroke College during University term time.

The School's grounds of 11 acres, provide plentiful opportunities for sporting and outdoor activities and aims to ensure every boy has an opportunity to represent the School in Rugby, Football, Cricket, or Real Tennis. The School offers a happy and creative environment where every child is challenged and feels valued and an important part of our community.  Parents often comment on the family feel and warmth of the School.
