Old Vicarage School in Richmond, Surrey requires a full-time School Secretary to start as soon as possible. Reduced hours during school holiday periods.   

Old Vicarage is a happy and successful independent school for girls aged 4 – 11 years.   

We are seeking to appoint a School Secretary to start as soon as possible. This is a role for a highly organised, professional and self-motivated person who loves the challenge of multi-tasking and who thrives on variety, contact with pupils, staff and parents and never knowing quite what the day will bring.   

The successful candidate will be expected to have strong administrative, secretarial and IT skills along with excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Previous experience of school procedures and administrative systems would be a great advantage but training will be provided. A willingness to work as part of a strong team, to play a full part in the life of the school and a commitment to the ethos of the school are essential.   

The role is full-time and starts at 7.45am each day during term time. The office must be covered until 5pm and this will be done on an agreed rota with the other two members of the office staff. During school holiday periods, there is more flexibility and the secretary will only be required to work 4 hours per day, the times of which will be agreed.   

The holiday allowance is 30 days per annum, plus Christmas closure (minimum of five extra days) and public holidays (eight days). All leave is to be taken during the School holidays.
