Job overview

We are seeking a School Secretary to undertake a diverse range of administration tasks within our busy school office. You will work as part of a collaborative team providing services to parents, students, school staff and the wider school community.


Duties include but not limited to:
• Telephone and email management,
• Administration of filing and online management systems (eMinerva),
• Assisting School Leadership with various administration tasks,
• Assisting with organisation of school events and activities, and
• First aid duties.

You will have:
• Administration experience,
• Sound Microsoft Office skills,
• Proven communication and interpersonal skills, and
• An ability to multi-task.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • currently hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.


Estimated Start Date:    Commencing 24 August 2020

Position Tenure:    Fixed Term

Weeks Worked:   School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):   August - December 2020

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required:   13 hours per week over 2 days

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate:   School Officer Level 3 - $29.05 per hour

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019


This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
