Linlithgow Academy is a six year comprehensive school serving the town of Linlithgow and the surrounding communities of Winchburgh, Bridgend, Torphichen and Westfield and the rural areas surrounding these communities.

We are recruiting an experienced and qualified technician to support our Craft Design & Technology Department and the wider school as required.

The key duties of this post are:

  • To support the teaching staff principally in the Craft, Design and Technology Department, but elsewhere in the school as necessary
  • Ensure that tools and equipment, including audio visual/new technology equipment, are maintained and adequate supplies of materials, tools and equipment are available for use by teachers and students.
  • Assist the teaching staff in demonstrating the use of equipment and preparation of technical areas and workshops

The skills and experience you must have are:

  • A recognised craft apprenticeship in a relevant discipline or possession of a SCOTVEC or equivalent qualification is essential

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.

Linlithgow Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form in West Lothian, providing places for students from 11-18 years. The secondary school is situated in Linlithgow and has approximately 1,203 students on record.    

Linlithgow Academy was established in 1894 and has been on its current site since 1968.
