Schools Adviser

The Diocesan Education Team serves the Diocese of Leeds Board of Education, promoting and nurturing Christian hope and high expectations in everyone who is involved in education across the Diocese. 

We seek to appoint highly motivated, talented and effective education professionals to the posts of School Adviser: Leadership. The successful applicants will contribute positively to our dynamic team, promoting educational excellence in our family of 242 Church schools and academies. 

Based in newly refurbished offices in the centre of Leeds. Regular travel across the Diocese is an expectation.

These posts will offer significant opportunities for career development and the post holders will be encouraged to take a leading role in the formulation and delivery of diocesan education policy and practice.

Full time with a salary range of £51,946 to £57,006 depending on experience, plus a non-contributory pension. 

Principal tasks include:

Working with and reporting to the Deputy Directors of Education to:

· Take a lead role in creating, implementing and sustaining significant aspects of Church school development, improvement and effectiveness;

· Hold a portfolio of Church of England Schools / Academies, building strong professional relationships with them to enhance and enrich distinctive learning opportunities for all;

· Contribute and bring expertise to the Diocesan Education Team including supporting its distinctive professional development;

· Respond to diocesan, local, regional and national educational initiatives, under the direction of the Director of Education.

An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for all the posts.
