Woodfield Academy joined the Bordesley MAT in Easter 2022 and works closely with Trinity High School, Birchensale Middle School and Holyoakes First School to strengthen education across Redditch. As part of a local three‑tier system, we are committed to improving the offer for our community.
Our Academy sits at the heart of Redditch with extensive buildings and grounds. Pupils benefit from specialist teaching from Year 5 and have access to excellent facilities, including two Science labs, a dedicated technology block, a library, gym, main hall, two ICT suites and a full‑size astro‑turf.

The governors and Headteacher are looking to appoint a forward-thinking department leader who has up-to-date knowledge of the latest strategies to improve progress for all learners in English, with particular expertise in leveraging digital platforms to enhance learning outcomes. They will need to have excellent leadership skills to support specialist teachers and TAs whilst driving innovation in digital learning approaches.
The Lead Practitioner will be responsible for improving standards in English across KS3, with a particular focus on working closely with the KS2 phase leader to ensure curriculum coherence and smooth transitions for learners. This role offers an exciting opportunity to embed digital platforms across KS3 to drive progress in writing and reading, particularly in preparation for the upcoming national Year 8 reading assessments.
What we are looking for:
5+ GCSEs including English and Mathematics, or equivalent
QTS or EQUIVALENT qualification(s)
Highly successful classroom practitioner
Understanding of KS2-KS3 curriculum progression and transition requirements

Woodfield Academy sits at the heart of Redditch and was judged to be a Good school in its last Ofsted inspection. The buildings and grounds are extensive and we are very lucky to learn in the buildings we have. The pupils have access to all the facilities from Year 5 which make the three-tier system unique in that pupils receive specialist teaching in the foundation subjects. We are well equipped with two Science labs, a designated technology block with cooking and resistant materials equipment, a library, a gym, a main hall with staging for performances, 2 ICT suites and a full size astro-turf which is the envy of the local community.
