Job overview
Are you ready to inspire the next generation of creative thinkers and problem solvers? Join our innovative Design department as a full-time IB MYP Digital Design Teacher (with a possibility of Subject Coordinator role) and make a meaningful impact in the world of education.
Become part of a dynamic team of 9 dedicated educators (across Digital Design, Product Design and Computer Science) who thrive on collaboration, regularly observe each other’s lessons, and take initiative in developing innovative projects using emerging digital skills. Teaching students aged 11-16, you’ll guide them in understanding how the design cycle and digital tools come together to create impactful, real-world solutions.
Here’s what’s in it for you:
Focus on Digital Design: Lead engaging lessons in graphics/media, programming, spreadsheets, and databases, helping students develop essential digital skills through the lens of the design cycle.
Meaningful Student Impact: Act as a mentor, providing pastoral care and supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional wellbeing as they grow into confident, responsible digital creators.
State-of-the-Art Facilities: Teach in well-equipped, air-conditioned computer labs, workshops, and digital classrooms designed to support your craft and enhance your teaching experience.
Tech-Forward Opportunities: Work with Google Apps for Education, Apple desktop computers, iPads, and other industry-standard tools.
Creative Project Journeys: Lead students through immersive, multi-week media and design projects, following the design cycle from concept to completion rather than teaching skills in isolation.
Stay Ahead of the Curve: Develop and integrate emerging technologies such as robotics, 3D printing, AI, and virtual reality into your teaching practice.
Leadership and Growth: This role offers the potential to step into the IB MYP Digital Design Subject Coordinator position, subject to the experience of the successful candidate, with opportunities to contribute to curriculum development, mentor colleagues, and help shape the future of the subject.
Be Part of a Creative Community: Work alongside passionate educators in a supportive and forward-thinking environment that values collaboration and growth.

At ISH we inspire personal excellence by encouraging our students to be curious, connected and compassionate. We use student-led inquiry to develop curiosity in authentic and challenging contexts. Students learn to apply their knowledge and skills to deepen conceptual, disciplinary and interdisciplinary understanding by making effective connections with other people and their ideas. Our students learn how to become compassionate and proactive global citizens through collaborative projects both in, and beyond, the classroom.

The Hague is a beautiful city located behind the sand dunes and adjacent to miles of clean and attractive beaches. It is the only major city in the Netherlands that lies directly at the sea, and it is known as 'the largest village in Europe' although it continues to grow in size. It is the seat of Dutch government and home to the Royal Family. It has a beautiful historic city centre and numerous Pleins (squares) where one can sit out and enjoy a drink and a snack. The city has beautiful architecture, numerous canals and an excellent public transport system. One of the particular pleasures of living in The Hague is the opportunity to cycle through the sand dunes alongside the beach. There are also extensive cycling routes to explore. In fact, most of our staff cycle to school. The Hague has an excellent shopping centre and is one of the best cities in Europe for eating out. One of the more noticeable features of The Hague is the profusion of parks in the city. It is one of the greenest cities in Europe as well as being a safe, friendly and relaxing place to live.
If you are internationally-minded, permitted to work in the European Union and have the desire to help shape the exciting future of our school, we would love to hear from you.
