Boston Spa Academy is seeking to recruit an inspirational colleague to the role of Teacher of Chemistry. This role is of great importance to our work as an academy in ensuring that children can achieve their full educational potential in Chemistry.

Potential applicants should:

Be either:

·        A trainee teacher who is successfully completing placement(s) teaching at KS3 & KS4 (applicants currently in training). 

or:

·        A colleague with a successful record of teaching with strong examination results at one or more of KS3 & KS4 (applicants who have already gained Qualified Teacher Status). 

Applicants should also have: 

·        A detailed knowledge of current developments in education including the effective use of the Pupil Premium. 

·        The ability to put vision into practice.

Students at Boston Spa Academy achieve exceptionally well at both GCSE and A Level. With a GCSE Progress 8 score which has been ‘Well Above Average’ for the past 3 academic years, students make excellent progress within their academic studies and progress to the Post-16 destination of their choice. The majority of our students choose to remain at our own sixth form provision that will be renamed as Boston Spa Academy Sixth Form and with a new £1.2million Sixth Form Centre opening from September 2026. We are a popular and growing sixth form with a culture of academic success based on our vision of ‘Character; Ambition; Excellence’.
