Hamblin Education Trust – Cover Supervisor at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys

The Hamblin Education Trust has operated since September 2016 consisting of two schools, North Cestrian School and Altrincham Grammar School for Boys. We are currently looking to recruit a cover supervisor on a 0.6FTE basis Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday ( 21.75 hours per week) at our Altrincham Grammar School for Boys site.

The cover teacher is required to supervise prepared lessons in the absence of the usual class teacher, maintaining the continuous learning and development of the students and on occasion may be required to perform form tutor responsibilities.

To have a flexible approach when cover is not required, with an expectation to undertake other administration tasks and duties as directed by the headteacher that are commensurate with a cover teacher role.

Invigilate internal and/or external examinations                           

To undertake a “duty” as part of the school’s duty system

Salary: NJC Scale 5 points 12-17 (£28598 - £31022 FTE) Working days are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 21.75 hours per week. NB: This is a term time only role plus 2 inset days. Actual salary is £14,449.69 - £15,674.46 dependent on experience.

Altrincham Grammar School for Boys is an academy school based in Altrincham, Cheshire for boys aged 11-18.

The school was founded in 1912. Altrincham Grammar School for Boys is a multi-ethnic seven-form entry 11-18 selective Academy School. It caters for boys who have been selected for a grammar school education from a wide area of South Manchester and North Cheshire. The academic results are outstanding and they place the School in the top 20 maintained schools in the country. Our GCSE results are strong in respect of 9/8 grades and our ‘A’ level results in respect of A*/A/B grades. The 2022 Ofsted Report graded the School as ‘Outstanding in all area’.
