POSITION OVERVIEW

The MYP and DP Mathematics Teacher inspires curiosity, confidence, and critical thinking in mathematics through

engaging, concept-driven learning experiences. The successful candidate will teach across both the Middle Years

Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), with specific experience in DP Mathematics: Applications &

Interpretation (AI) and Analysis & Approaches (AA) courses.

This teacher will contribute to a collaborative, inquiry-based learning environment that fosters deep

understanding, student wellbeing, and a strong sense of belonging within our diverse international community.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching and Learning

  • Plan, teach, and assess engaging units of inquiry aligned with the IB MYP and DP Mathematics

    frameworks.

  • Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners and challenge students to achieve excellence.

  • Deliver high-quality instruction in both DP Mathematics: AI and AA at various levels (SL/HL).

  • Integrate technology and real-world applications to enhance mathematical understanding.

  • Contribute to curriculum review, vertical alignment, and continuous program development

  • Promote interdisciplinary learning and connections across subject areas.

  • Prepare students for success in internal and external DP Math assessments, including the DP Math Internal Assessment (IA).

Assessment and Reporting

  • Design and implement varied formative and summative assessments aligned with IB criteria.

  • Provide timely, constructive feedback that supports student growth and reflection.

  • Accurately record and report student progress in accordance with school and IB guidelines.

Community and Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop cohesive approaches to teaching and learning.

  • Engage in professional dialogue and contribute to departmental and school initiatives.

  • Participate in school events, activities, and community-building initiatives that promote inclusion and belonging.

Professional Growth

  • Reflect on and develop one’s own professional practice through ongoing learning and collaboration.

  • Stay current with developments in mathematics education and IB pedagogy.

  • Participate in IB training and other relevant professional development.

Student Support and Wellbeing

  • Foster a classroom environment that values inquiry, respect, and intercultural understanding.

  • Serve as a mentor or advisor, supporting the academic and personal growth of students.

  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide feedback on student progress and achievement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Valid teaching certification/license.

  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in international or IB schools.

  • Proven experience teaching DP Mathematics: Applications & Interpretation (AI) and/or Analysis & Approaches (AA).

  • Experience with the IB Middle Years Programme is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of inquiry-based learning and assessment for learning principles.

  • Demonstrated commitment to student wellbeing, inclusion, and intercultural understanding.
