“Developing Tomorrow’s Leaders Today” is the theme that runs through the work of both staff and students at The Misbourne.  We want our students to aspire to be the best they can be without any limitations and it’s important to us that our teachers and leaders feel the same.

What we can offer you:

• A strong team ethos, with caring colleagues

• High quality, bespoke training to help teachers and leaders develop their practice

• Superb students with supportive families

We want teachers to apply who are still hungry to grow and learn themselves alongside a keen interest in leading and developing others, staff and students alike. This post is a great opportunity for either an ambitious person looking to make the move to middle leadership or an opportunity for an aspiring senior leader.

Science is a successful curriculum area and there is a good uptake of Triple Science at GCSE and the separate sciences at A level, therefore the ability to teach A level science is essential. We place a great importance on STEM and have a large and thriving STEM club.  We are keen to raise the profile of this even further across the school.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their own leadership qualities, whether that be through a relevant Masters programme, NPQML/SL or off-site training of their own choosing. You will be encouraged and supported to share good practice across Buckinghamshire as we play a significant role within the Astra Teaching School Alliance. We are also part of the Canons Park Teaching School Alliance and through this partnership, have a strong focus on education research to inform our practice and link closely with the Teacher Development Trust, NACE and SSAT to name but a few.

Our staff tell us they genuinely feel like part of a team; a team who are striving to help each student flourish both academically and personally. That’s important to us, if we are going to embody our moto of “developing tomorrow’s leaders today” and if you are our kind of teacher and leader, it will be important to you too.

It’s an exciting time to join us as we embark upon a new school vision, in which you will play a key role. Our students and staff are keen to meet you and show off our fantastic school, so why not come and visit before you apply? We welcome interested candidates to contact us to arrange an informal visit.

Please contact Hazel Baxter on 01273 729465 or email hazel.baxter@hays.com to arrange a tour or if you would like to receive an application pack.

The closing date for applications is midday on Monday 20th May with interviews currently scheduled for Wednesday 22nd May although we do reserve the right to interview earlier than the closing date therefore early applications are encouraged. We would also consider an earlier start date for the right candidate.  Please email your application to: hazel.baxter@hays.com
