Hours: 37 hours per week (Part time considered)

Weeks:       Term time plus 1 week (39 weeks)

Salary Range: H4 £19,698 - £20,903 (FTE)

Contract:        Permanent

We are seeking to appoint a well organised and responsible person to join our Science Department as a Science Laboratory Technician. The post will involve daily contact with staff and students so excellent communication skills are essential. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Preparing for classroom experiments

• Carrying out departmental risk assessments

• Maintaining equipment inventories

• Ordering stock

• Organising safe disposal of waste.

The successful candidate will have a good standard of secondary education, including Science subjects. Experience of working in a laboratory environment is essential.

King James Academy (5-11), is a through school formed from the amalgamation of two middle schools and an upper school in 2019. Since 2020 it has been part of the Diamond Learning Partnership Trust. It is approximately 12 miles from Cambridge and is within easy access of London. The three schools were each recognised as ‘Good’ in all categories by Ofsted in their last inspections prior to the merger.
