McAuley College is seeking a suitably qualified and / or experienced Science Laboratory Technician to commence working in May 2021. This School Officer Level 4 role is Part Time continuing, working 6 hours per week, across one day within the week. McAuley College is a new school and in time, this role will grow as the demands of this area increase with larger student numbers.

The successful candidate will work to support the teachers of Science in the delivery of the curriculum and efficient operation of the laboratories, as outlined in the attached role statement. They will require the capacity to work with minimal guidance and demonstrate the capacity to be self-directed and organised, to determine priorities and achieve the required outcomes within specific time constraints.

The role holder will be required to engage in an induction program as part of their appointment, which will include the completion of several mandatory online courses.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

Estimated Start Date:  Commencing week of 4 May 2021

Position Tenure:  Continuing

Weeks Worked:  School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required: 6 hours per week (day to be negotiated with successful candidate)

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate: School Officer Level 4  - $31.44 per hour

Employment Conditions:  Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement

This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
