We are looking to appoint an inspirational Science Lead Practitioner (A Level specialist) to join our fantastic Science Faculty. We look foward to appointing a new member of staff who will help us propel the school forward on its exciting journey to outstanding. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and committed practitioner who is able to provide high quality teaching and learning for our students.  Science is among one our most successsful departments with extensive resourcing and teaching across numerous qualifications across KS3 to KS5. We believe that every student, regardless of background, can and will exceed their potential. We know that teaching must be excellent and impact on students’ progress.

Applications from NQTs and experienced teachers are welcome. The post is paid on the Teachers' Main Pay Scale but there may be the possibility of a responsibility allowance for the right candidate.

Marriotts School was founded in 1995. Marriotts is an exciting and improving school with a reputation for forward thinking and curriculum innovation. There has been significant investment in the school over recent years. We are now a centre for training for gymnastics and trampolining. Staff are hardworking and very committed. There is a good mix of new and long-serving members of staff. Colleagues are very supportive of each other and there are excellent relations between teachers at all levels.

The School is in an exciting stage of development; it is expanding and appointing additional staff and will continue to do so over the next few years. A substantial building and refurbishment programme creating a new, modern environment, and we moved into a brand new purpose built facility in January 2013. Marriotts lies 2km to the east of Stevenage town centre in north Hertfordshire.

Stevenage was the first designated New Town intended to relieve the housing problems in London. It has a population of approximately 80,000 and there are plans for an additional 10,000 new homes in the town. Stevenage has a high proportion of skilled manual workers and a large number of professional and managerial workers. Stevenage has a number of major companies that have bases within the Borough, including GlaxoSmithKline, Matra BAe., Marconi Instruments, CGNU, Matra Marconi Space, ICL, IBM and Sun Bank.

Stevenage has excellent road and rail links. Adjacent to the A1(M) junctions 7 and 8, it is also just 15 minutes from the M25 and links to main motorway networks. The main railway station is on the main East coast line with frequent intercity services to the North and London. There are also frequent local services to Kings Cross, Welwyn Garden City, Hertford, Royston and Cambridge.The school draws it students from all over the town.

We are a Sports College and are proud of our status as a Healthy School. In 2011 we once again achieved International School status.
