The Joseph Whitaker School is a popular 11-18 school, in Rainworth, a village just outside of Mansfield. It serves the three local villages of Blidworth, Rainworth and Ravenshead and has around 1360 students.
Due to a member of the department being successful in securing Head of Faculty role the Governors are seeking to appoint a well-qualified Science Teacher to take up a leadership position within the large science faculty. The ability to teach Biology, Chemistry or Physics at A Level would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be passionate and be able to work as a member of the Science faculty to ensure the consistent promotion of learning and to secure the best outcomes for all of our students.

We want every pupil to achieve the highest possible academic outcomes and this is our number one priority. The school has been Ofsted graded Good since 2010, most recently in March 2019, and outcomes remain consistently high in comparison to national standards. We became a part of the East Midlands Education Trust (EMET) in September 2016. The talents of schools together become greater than the sum of their parts and collaboration between the Trust schools is reaping rewards.
Achieving the best possible examination outcomes, having the necessary employability skills and becoming good citizens are the three key objectives we would want to be measured against.
Physical Education facilities consist of a fully equipped sports hall; a purpose built gymnasium, a dance studio and spacious changing rooms. A full size all-weather football pitch has also recently opened.
